EA SPORTS FC 27 Clubs: Everything That Changes for Pro Clubs

EA SPORTS FC 27 launches worldwide on 25 September 2026, with early access from 18 September for Ultimate and Ultimate Plus Edition pre-orders. For anyone who plays Pro Clubs, this is the biggest structural change since the mode was renamed from "Pro Clubs" to "Clubs" back in FC 24: the Clubs experience no longer sits in its own menu entry. It lives inside The Grounds, EA's new shared online world, and you reach it through a place called The Clubhouse.

That headline hides several changes that matter far more to how you actually build and play. Every archetype is unlocked from the start, resets no longer cost anything, two new progression layers (Masteries and Amps) sit on top of the archetype system, and three platforms lose access to Clubs entirely. This page collects what EA has confirmed in its own Pitch Notes, separates it from what is still unannounced, and points you to the tools on FCClub.gg for each part.

Is Pro Clubs gone in FC 27? No — it moved

Clubs is not being removed. What changed is where it sits. On EA's own game modes page for FC 27 the top-level modes are The Grounds, Football Ultimate Team, and Manager and Player Career; Clubs is described inside The Grounds rather than as a separate entry. EA's wording in The Grounds Deep Dive is that "the Clubs experience now lives inside The Grounds, including the return of Leagues and Playoffs", and that The Clubhouse "is where the Clubs experience lives in EA SPORTS FC 27".

So Leagues, Playoffs, 11v11 and your club identity all survive. What you lose is the straight line from the main menu: in FC 27 you walk your avatar into a social world first. If you only want to play 11v11 with your club, there is still a route through to it — it just starts from a different place. Worth knowing before launch day, because the first wave of "Pro Clubs is dead" posts will say otherwise.

Archetypes are unlocked by default, and resets are free

This is the single biggest change for anyone who builds a Virtual Pro. In FC 26 you started with one archetype and unlocked the other twelve with Clubs Coins, FC Points or Archetype Unlock items. In FC 27, EA states that "all Archetypes are now unlocked by default, giving you immediate access to any Archetype", and that "Archetype resets no longer cost Coins or a reset consumable".

You can also adjust individual attributes instead of resetting an entire build, and you can do it from the in-world menu, from The Clubhouse, or directly inside a Clubs or Rush lobby. The practical consequence: the cost of being wrong about a build drops to zero. Experimenting becomes normal instead of expensive, which makes comparing builds — rather than committing to one — the useful skill this year.

Masteries and Amps: two new layers on top of archetypes

Masteries are account-level progression. Reaching set milestones unlocks "permanent Attribute boosts that carry across all of your builds" — EA's own example is that reaching level 10 with the Finisher archetype grants +1 Finishing and +1 Composure on every archetype you play afterwards. That turns time spent on one archetype into a permanent benefit for all the others, which is the opposite of how FC 26's siloed per-archetype progression worked.

Amps are a separate, four-tier system. Standard Amps (tiers 1 and 2) give attribute boosts; Signature Amps (tiers 3 and 4) give larger boosts plus PlayStyles, PlayStyles+ and Perks. Consumables grant AXP, come in targeted variants, and have their own level caps, with AXP multipliers designed to help newer players catch up. Between Masteries, Amps and free resets, the same archetype can play very differently depending on what a player has stacked on top of it.

Leagues, Playoffs and the new Clubs Live Tournaments

Competitive Clubs keeps its spine: Leagues and Playoffs return, EA references an Elite Division through "special objectives for Clubs in Elite Division to earn extra rewards", and Ranked Rush is mentioned alongside them.

On top of that sits a new format, Clubs Live Tournaments: 11v11 competitions that give clubs "another way to compete against other Clubs beyond Leagues and Playoffs", played under house rules such as Mystery Ball, King of the Hill, No Rules, Headers and Volleys, Survival and Long Range. Club Objectives are also new — Club Milestones in Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers that earn fans, plus weekly and seasonal objectives that pay out Amps, Consumables and Coins.

Small-sided football, 1v1 and Kickabouts

Inside The Grounds there is football that is not 11v11 at all. 1v1 matches are played with computer-controlled goalkeepers; 2v2 and 3v3 are human-only with smaller goals and no keepers; matches run about three minutes. Alongside them are eight Kickabouts — Bocce Ball, Team Keepaway, The Big Race, Attacking Scenarios, Bucket Ball, Balloon Ball, Goal Control, Drop Kick Targets — plus live services and in-world events.

EA has not said whether these formats are tracked the same way Clubs matches are. If they are, they become a new category of stat entirely; if they are not, your Clubs record stays clean of them. It is one of the first things worth checking during early access.

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One and Switch 1 lose Clubs

This is the change with the sharpest edge, and it is stated plainly in a footnote EA repeats across its FC 27 pages: "The Grounds mode, including Clubs, only available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2 versions."

FC 27 still releases on PS4, Xbox One and the original Nintendo Switch — but on those platforms there is no Clubs. Not a reduced version: none. If your club plays on last-gen hardware, 25 September is the day that stops. Your FC 26 record does not disappear, but no new last-gen Clubs data will be generated after it. If that is you, plan the move now rather than on launch night.

What happens to your FC 26 stats on FCClub.gg

EA's Clubs data endpoints serve the current season. Historically the path has not changed at the yearly rollover — it has been the same since FC 24 — but the data behind it turns over, which is how previous seasons quietly become unreachable.

FCClub.gg keeps a season selector driven by what is actually in the database, not by a hard-coded list: the day the first FC 27 row arrives, FC 27 appears as an option on its own. FC 26 stays selectable for as long as we hold the data, so your club's 2026 record remains readable after the rollover. You can switch season from any stats page, and a link carrying ?year=26 keeps its season when you share it.

FAQ

Is Pro Clubs gone in EA SPORTS FC 27?

No. Clubs still exists, with Leagues and Playoffs, but it is no longer a separate menu entry: EA has moved the Clubs experience inside The Grounds, accessed through The Clubhouse. The mode has been officially called "Clubs" rather than "Pro Clubs" since FC 24.

When does EA SPORTS FC 27 release?

25 September 2026 worldwide. Ultimate and Ultimate Plus Edition pre-orders get up to 7 days of early access from 18 September 2026, and a free limited preview called EA SPORTS FC 27 Lite launches on 25 September at 16:00 UTC.

Do I still have to unlock archetypes in FC 27?

No. EA states that all archetypes are unlocked by default from the start, and that resetting an archetype no longer costs Coins or a reset consumable. You can also adjust individual attributes instead of resetting the whole build.

Can I play Clubs on PS4 or Xbox One in FC 27?

No. EA's own footnote limits The Grounds, including Clubs, to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. FC 27 still releases on PS4, Xbox One and the original Switch, but Clubs is not available on those versions.

What are Masteries in FC 27 Clubs?

Masteries are milestone-based rewards that grant permanent attribute boosts carried across every one of your builds. EA's example: reaching Finisher level 10 gives +1 Finishing and +1 Composure on all archetypes, not just that one.

Will my FC 26 club stats still be visible after FC 27 launches?

On FCClub.gg, yes. The season selector is built from the seasons actually present in our database, so FC 26 stays selectable after FC 27 data starts arriving, and a shared link keeps the season it was created with.
